Tests carried out in all homes in Portimão were negative for Covid-19, announced today the Chamber of Portimão.
Teams from the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) tested the 491 users and 296 professionals of the 11 residential structures for the elderly in the municipality and did not detect any positive case of the disease. In all, 787 people were tracked.
In this "mega operation", carried out within the scope of the Covid+70 Algarve's nursing homes testing program, ABC had the support of the Firefighters of Portimão, "which mobilized a total of 23 vehicles and their crews for this purpose, making it viable the safe transport of the ABC medical teams, as well as the collection and delivery of samples to the laboratory”, according to the City Council of Portimão.
«The work of ABC will evolve into the Testing of professionals in day care centers in the county which, before resuming activity in the same, will also be tested for Covid-19», added the municipality.
