Epopeia Books will this Wednesday, May 6th, from 21 pm, present the first edition of zine digital “The Echo of the Birds”.

This presentation will take place on the Zoom platform (Conference ID 682-373-4378 | Access password: oecosoa). THE zine digital will be available here in the member area.

The presentation “will have the participation of all authors and collaborators in order to make known to others the dynamic that is intended to be created with this initiative and some of the contents of the first edition of the zine digital,” explains Epopeia Books.

The curator was in charge of Tiago Marcos, who said that «this project, at this time in which we live, makes a huge sense».

“Using art to break down barriers is not a new idea: this time we use it against the isolation we are subjected to. It has been very gratifying to see that people are joining in and helping us turn this crisis into an opportunity to meet and make known new authors. The selection of texts takes into account, above all, covering the greatest possible diversity. We seek, in addition to diversifying the offer, to be able to converge with different tastes and include as many people as possible," he adds.

In addition to the texts published in the first issue of zine, which will have a weekly edition, information available about each author is also shared, who every week share new texts that integrate the zine Following.

During the coming weeks, new authors can also join the initiative using the form available on the website.

Although this first phase brought together around 60 authors, 20 texts by participants from various parts of the country are published in the first edition.

Even though the «large majority are people from the Algarve and Alentejo, we hope that the range will expand soon», says Tiago Marcos.

"The authors are very heterogeneous, yet it should be noted that there is a large number of young people participating", he concludes.
