The Political Commission of Socialist Women – Equal Rights of Tavira, celebrates World Environment Day with a Bird Watching Tour, to be held on June 6, in Tavira.
Having as a guide the bird watcher Sónia Cruz, who introduces herself as a «natural and resident in Portimão, has a degree in management and has a hobby of bird watching», the tour will take place in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in the salt pan area, where the highlight is will go to shorebirds and passerines.
At the end of the walk, the Socialist Women of Tavira will release a recovered bird at the RIAS – Wildlife Research and Recovery Center.
According to the current state of calamity, the number of participants is limited to 10 participants, and registration can be made through the email address [email protected].
World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5, was created by the General Assembly of the United Nations in resolution (XXVII) of December 15, 1972, which opened the Stockholm Conference, Sweden, whose central theme was the Human Environment.
Every year, on this day, various civil society organizations issue manifestos and take steps to remind the general public of the need to preserve the environment.
In 2019, China hosted the international conference of World Environment Day, with the main objective of combating pollution, in an initiative promoted by the United Nations in the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
