Manuel Heitor comes to the Algarve to learn about the results of serological tests

Minister comes to the Algarve to know the results of serological tests carried out by the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) and the Champalimaud Foundation – but not only

Manuel Heitor, Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, will visit this Wednesday, May 6, at 14:30 pm, the drive-thru at Estádio Algarve, where he will learn about the results of serological tests carried out on professionals in essential activities of the county of Loulé.

This initiative took place within the scope of a partnership between the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) and the Champalimaud Foundation.

The presentation of the results will also be attended by Jamila Madeira, Assistant Secretary of State and Health, Henrique Veigas Fernandes, from the Champalimaud Foundation, Fernando de Almeida, president of the National Health Institute Doctor Ricardo Jorge, and Nuno Marques, president of ABC .

At 15:30 pm, Nelson Carvalho, a student at the University of Algarve (UAlg), will present the Qlinic Platform. The initiative closes at 16 pm after interventions by the secretary of state and the minister.

 




 

As part of this initiative, which brought together the ABC and the Champalimaud Foundation, 1235 serological tests were carried out, with the aim of finding out the degree of immunity of the population to guide future measures in the recovery phase from the pandemic and the resumption of economic activity.

The minister's visit to the Algarve also includes a visit to the University of the Algarve (UAlg), to learn about the implementation of the plan for the progressive survey of containment measures and the phased reactivation of on-site activities at the UAlg.

The visit includes a meeting at 13 pm, in Auditorium 00 of Building 1.5 of the UAlg Pedagogical Complex, on the Penha Campus, in Faro, with the dean, the various directors of the faculties and the respective presidents of the pedagogical councils.
