Monchique Municipal Holiday celebrated with a mini concert on the sofa of the fado singer Adriana Marques

Monchique celebrates today, 21st of May, Thursday of Ascension or Espiga Day, its municipal holiday. Instead of the usual festivities, this year there will be a “Mini Concerto no Sofá”, this time with fellow fado singer Adriana Marques, starting at 21 pm, with live broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Municipality of Monchique.

Tradition dictates that, on this Thursday of Ascension (according to the Christian calendar), people go out into the field to pick the ear, a sprig that includes wheat, as well as wild flowers such as poppies, marigolds or flower of pomegranate and a sprig of olive tree.
