Faro raises awareness and distributes masks in crèches and kindergartens

Nurseries reopened on Monday

The Municipality of Faro, through its Municipal Civil Protection Service (SMPC), this week is promoting awareness actions on the prevention of contagion with Covid-19, with day care centers and kindergartens in the municipality, in conjunction with the Regional Health Administration (ARS) and the Social Security Institute.

As the municipality explains, "after the reopening of these areas, allowed since Monday, May 18, these multidisciplinary teams - which, in addition to the elements assigned to the SMPC, also included a technician from the Social Security Institute and a public health doctor appointed by the Health Delegate – they are carrying out awareness-raising actions in 25 locations, linked to 23 entities (including Private Institutions of Social Solidarity and private), which have around 420 employees».

Within the scope of these actions, the Chamber of Faro, «3200 personal protective equipment (surgical masks) are being distributed, in addition to information leaflets and posters with good practices and recommendations for employees and guardians regarding the return to operation of day care centers and kindergartens, including preventive measures or adaptation of the contingency plans of the various spaces».

The awareness actions will take place at the Child Support Association “O Arco Íris”, Cáritas Diocesana do Algarve, Casa de Santa Isabel, Kindergarten “A Joaninha” (Cultural and Social Center of the Parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe), Center Cultural and Social Center of the Parish of São Martinho de Estoi, Nossa Senhora de Fátima Child Welfare Center and Falfosa Infantry/ Falfosa Child Welfare Center (Center for Social Action, Culture and Sport for Health and Social Security Workers in the District in Faro), Children's Center of the Hospital de Faro, COOPPOFA – Popular Consumer Cooperative of Faro CRL, Montenegro Children's Center “Os Vivaços” and “Os Vivaços” Nursery (Algarvian Social Development Foundation), “Estrela do Mar” Children's Center and “Malta Pequena” Nursery (Antonio Silva Leal Foundation), “O Relógio” Nursery (Gambelas) and Dom Francisco Gomes Institute – Casa dos Meninos (headquarters), Obra de Santa Zita – Faro, Center / Nursery / Pre-School of the Christmas Tower and Nursery Faro/Pre-School of Faro/ATL Faro (Holy House of Mercy of Faro), Nursery and Kindergarten “Planeta da Fantasia”, Nursery and Kindergarten “Poppocas e Companhia”, Nursery and Kindergarten “Bela Childhood”, Colégio Oficina Diversa, João de Deus School Garden, and Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Association.

The Municipality of Faro he says that he hopes, with this initiative, «to help implement the safety and health protection requirements of all employees and users of these areas that are so important and necessary to guarantee the future of our children and the restoration of normality in our families' lives. ».
