The operations by the young man who disappeared this Tuesday, May 26, when trying to save a man, in Prainha, in Alvor, have not yet been successful.
The operations were resumed "around 6:25 am" today, the 27th, but "we still haven't had success", explained González Paços, captain of the Port of Portimão, to Sul Informação.
At that time, "two semi-rigid vehicles" were mobilized, as well as a boat from the Fire Department of Portimão, the ship NRP Hydra, from the Navy, and the boat Salva-Vidas from Quarteira.
«At around 7:30 am, a dive was carried out by operators of the Firefighters Volunteers of Portimão, near the area where the young man was last seen yesterday, but so far, we have not been successful in the operations: the person has not yet been located. », said the captain to our newspaper.
According to the official, the missing person is "a young person aged 25, 26 and of Angolan nationality."
The search area remains the same as yesterday: from Prainha to Barra de Alvor and «the conditions are the same, except for the wind that grew, as well as the sea».
“The searches are being done in the same way. The difference is that yesterday we had an air vehicle and today we are using a drone from the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Portimão. The divers have already hit not only this place, but also this surrounding area, in front of Prainha”, explained captain González Paços.
It is certain that, throughout the day, the device «has been adjusted».
“The number of vessels is now reduced because there is a need for refueling and rest. There is a logistics for the device to be sustainable over time», he framed.
According to the captain of Porto de Portimão, «due to the experience we have, on the third or fourth day, the chances we have of the young man showing up are greater. According to the reading of the currents, the probability is that it will appear here [next to Prainha], but the search area goes further», he concluded.
