25 year old searches continue

A 69-year-old man drowned this morning in Prainha, Alvor, and a 25-year-old is still missing at sea.

González dos Paços, captain of the Port of Portimão, who is coordinating the searches, told the Sul Informação that the young man tried to help "the man who was at sea when he felt difficulties reaching land."

The alert was given around 10:20 am and, according to the same source, when the means of assistance arrived at the scene, the man was already in cardiorespiratory arrest.

Searches for the young man continue and have been reinforced with a Navy helicopter and the NRP Hydra. A boat from the Maritime Police, the Lifeguards of Ferragudo and a boat from the firefighters are also involved in the searches.
