Nearly fifty musicians from all over the country responded to the appeal of the Algarve association Fungo Azul and joined together to sing “Grândola Vila Morena” in a video.
There are several names from the Algarve that gave voice to the theme, such as Mauro Amaral, Luís Caracinha, César Matoso or Viviane and who joined friends of Zeca Afonso, such as Francisco Fanhais, one of the musicians who recorded the original theme, or João Afonso, nephew of the singer.
Pedro Abrunhosa, João Gil, Luana Cozetti or Luís Represas also appear in this work, which was produced and edited by Carlos Norton and João Pico.
Fungo Azul emphasizes that «the video is a tribute to freedom, in this difficult moment that we are all facing and where values such as unity and solidarity are more essential than ever».
