Physician graduated from UAlg obtains the best classification in the National Examination of Access to the specialty

The average obtained by the UAlg Medicine finalists was higher than the national average

His name is Bruno Morgado, he has a degree in Medicine from the University of Algarve and obtained the best classification in the first edition of the National Access Test (PNA), used to rank recent Medicine graduates in accessing the specialty.

After 40 years, the PNA replaced the Harrison Exam, which was no longer well regarded by students, including Bruno Morgado, who considered it “an aberration”.

The UAlg Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine lasts 4 years and is aimed at graduate students, holders of at least a first cycle of studies – a degree.

Your program is entirely based on Problem-based learning (PBL) and includes clinical teaching from the 1st year.

Although most of these characteristics are not innovative by themselves in Portugal, given that other medical schools apply them in one way or another, the integration of all of them in the same Medicine course is only verified at UAlg.

The combination of all these components is essential for the preparation of future doctors, explains Bruno Morgado, who scored 136 points out of 150 in the ranking.

Already with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, for this doctor, working at the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA), the UAlg course is, without a doubt, the best in the country.

The average obtained by the finalists in Medicine at UAlg was higher than the national average.
