Covid-19: Algarve has 318 cases, Alentejo 181, there are 22.353 across the country

The Algarve now has 318 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 181 infected. Across the country, there are 22.353 confirmed cases and 820 deaths, according to data from today, April 23, from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), which has just been released. Those recovered are already 1201.

Compared to yesterday's figures, the Algarve has two more cases, going from 316 to 318. In Alentejo, today there are 181 infected, compared to 176 yesterday (plus 5).

The number of deaths in these regions remains the same: the Algarve has 11 and the Alentejo only one.

Nationally, there are now 820 deaths, 35 more than yesterday. The North is the region with the most deaths recorded (475), followed by the Center (179), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (146), Algarve (11), Azores (8) and Alentejo (1).

 

 

After yesterday the number of recovered people reached 1143, today there is growth again. There are now 1201 recovered (another 58).

As for the number of confirmed cases, it increased from 21.982 to 22.353 (more 371). By regions, this is the distribution of the number of infected: North (13.382), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (5194), Center (3084), Algarve (318), Alentejo (181), Azores (109) and Madeira (85) .

The DGS further advances that there are 1095 hospitalized people (51 fewer), 204 of whom are in intensive care (three fewer).

There are currently 4048 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 30.342 are in surveillance contact with the health authorities.

As of January 1, the total number of suspected cases was 219.848, but 193.447 of those have not been confirmed.
