The postponement of all events that bring together more than 50 people, the suspension of the arrival of mobility students, the reinforcement of cleaning and disinfectant dispensers in various points of the fields are some of the measures that will be part of the Contingency Plan of the University of Algarve for the new coronavirus, which will be launched later today.
At the moment, the closure of any of the UAlg poles is not foreseen, namely that of Portimão, the city where they live. the daughter and mother who were diagnosed with Covid-19, yesterday and this morning, respectively.
According to a UAlg source, “some measures have already been taken, including suspension of the incoming of mobility students, under the Erasmus programme, and the postponement of UAlg Careers Fair».
Now, under the Contingency Plan, an action plan will be drawn up with different levels, depending on the evolution of the situation, namely the emergence of any case within the institution.
The University of the Algarve has the capacity, moreover, «to produce disinfectant solutions».
