Carnival brought more tourists to the Algarve

The Dutch (-11,3%) and British (-10,9%) markets registered declines 

There were more tourists in the Algarve in February this year, compared to what had happened in 2019, numbers influenced by Carnival. 

According to the Association of Hotels and Touristic Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), «the overall average occupancy rate/room was 47,5%, 3,3 percentage points above the figure recorded in 2019».

Even so, the Dutch (-11,3%) and British (-10,9%) markets registered declines.

As for Portuguese tourists, they increased a lot (+31%).

«The sales volume presented an increase compared to the same month of the previous year of 14,6%», concludes AHETA.
