Inframoura has its Water Loss Reduction Project approved

Project completion will be on May 13, 2021

The project for the Control and Reduction of Water Loss in Inframoura's Distribution Systems, submitted to the Operational Program “Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources” (POSEUR) of the European Union Cohesion Fund (Portugal 2020), has now been approved, culminating in a financial support of 246.223,50 euros out of a total eligible cost of 639.992,43 euros.

"The implemented strategy, central to what will result in a significant reduction in water losses in the Inframoura distribution system, consists, in addition to other broader technological and infrastructural aspects, in the projects to implement monitoring and control zones (ZMC ), in the installation of a fixed radio system and also in the replacement of organs and network components identified as responsible for the loss of water in the distribution system», explains the company.

The project submitted to POSEUR began on September 10, 2018, and its completion is scheduled for May 13, 2021.

The implementation of the project is already having effects, given that, at the end of 2018, Inframoura «presented an indicator of the percentage of unbilled water of 15% and, at the end of 2019, the indicator dropped to 11,2%, reaching its historical minimum, allowing the company to integrate the group of managing entities that stand out at national level».
