Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra plays film soundtracks in Albufeira

It will be a «fantastic journey» conducted by the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, through the soundtracks of films such as “Harry Potter”, “Star Wars”, “Pirata das Caraíbas” and “007”. The show starts on the 8th of February, from 21 pm, at the Pavilhão Desportivo de Albufeira. 

The space is getting ready to host the show “From London To Hollywood”, a concert that will take us on a journey through great music that has also been immortalized through cinema.

«From Hollywood studios to London, we will remember some of the most famous film soundtracks» stresses the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra (OFP), which will star in this moment under the direction of conductor Osvaldo Ferreira.

«This will be a magical night, with the Orchestra performing the well-known soundtracks of “Star Wars”, “Harry Potter”, “Pirate of the Caribbean”, “Panther Colored”, “007” and “New York, New York” among many other successes, accompanied by images of the films projected on a giant screen”, says the Câmara de Albufeira.

Founded in 2016 by conductor Osvaldo Ferreira and Augusto Trindade, OFP quickly captured the attention of the national musical and artistic milieu, being already widely recognized, by the public and critics, as one of the best
country symphony orchestras.

«The high standard of demand since its inception, lead it to integrate a group of musicians of high technical and artistic level, such as artists awarded in national and international competitions, ex-participants of the European Union Youth Orchestra and resident foreign musicians in Portugal», refers the Council of Albufeira.

Tickets cost 10 euros and can be purchased at the Albufeira Town Hall/Consumer Information Center on weekdays from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm and at the Pavilhão Desportivo de Albufeira, on the day of the show from 19:30 pm to 21:15 pm.
