A man suspected of having sexually abused an eight-year-old girl in late 2019 in Portimão was detained by the Judiciary Police.
The alleged pedophile, 67 years old, allegedly committed the crime "inside the victim's own dwelling, where the suspect, known to the parents and taking advantage of the proximity to the eight-year-old girl, has committed important sexual acts with the victim".
The detainee, a construction worker, will be present at the first judicial interrogation to find out what coercive measures will be applied to him.
