Algarve2020 opens applications to finance Technological Specialization Courses

Public funding is 2 million euros

CRESC Algarve2020 launched a new tender for funding Technological Specialization Courses (CET).

The only requirement is that the courses are taught in technological schools, in centers of the Employment and Vocational Training Institute and in the schools of Turismo de Portugal.

With this competition «the intention is to support courses in line with the thematic domains of the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Algarve (RIS3 Algarve), namely in the domains of tourism and leisure, sea, fisheries and aquaculture, agri-food, health, well-being, ICT and creative industries or renewable energies”, says the Algarve's Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR).

The CETs are aimed at non-higher post-secondary technical training and combine general and scientific training, technological training and practical training in a work context, aiming at the acquisition of qualification level 5 of the National Qualification Framework (QNQ).

These courses "constitute a qualification opportunity for young people and adults who wish to resume and/or complete studies, update themselves or specialize in certain relevant areas in the labor market, acquiring scientific, technical and professional skills that enable them to enter more qualified in the labor market'.

Public funding is 2 million euros, an allocation made available for a period of 24 months, with this contribution shared by 1,6 million euros from the European Social Fund (80%) and 400 thousand euros from the national public contribution (20%) .
