Young women sang and enchanted at the party of the Friends of the Museum of Portimão

Concert offered by GAMP to the parties in the city of Portimão was a success

“Atão, why not?”, asked – and sang – the Moçoilas in the concert that marked the 5th anniversary of the Group of Friends of the Museum of Portimão, in the auditorium of this museum structure.

With a completely full house, the group that revived the musical heritage of the two sides – Algarve and Alentejo – of Serra do Caldeirão and that, from this tradition, created their own themes, interpreted with all the soul, got everyone singing during over an hour and a half.

The musical group Moçoilas, now made up of Inês Rosa, Margarida Guerreiro and Teresa Silva, has just completed 25 years of existence. His repertoire starts from old themes enriched «with their own energy, modifying some, appropriating others and paving the way for new melodies and new songs». Therefore, a very suitable choice for the anniversary of the Group of Friends of the Museum of Portimão.

The concert was offered by the Friends of the Museum of Portimão to the schedule of the Municipality Day, which is celebrated this Wednesday, December 11th. And it was a winning bet, because not a ticket was left.

But the initiative also had a solidary aspect: tickets were free, but each person had to bring a food or hygiene product to donate to Lar Bom Samaritano, which welcomes children. And the Friends of the Museum of Portimão responded: the organization had prepared a large box to store the donations, but had to find at least two more, which were very full.
