Secretary of State present at the launch of an app for the blind in Vilamoura

The initiative is the result of a partnership between Inframoura and Vilamoura Marina

Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities, will be on Tuesday, November 19, at 12:00 pm, in Vilamoura, at the La Bella Barca restaurant, for the launch of the mobile application “Inclusive Vilamoura – A city ​​guide for All”.

Developed within the scope of a partnership established between Inframoura and Vilamoura Marina, this application aims to provide the public space of Vilamoura – Marina and beaches – with a unique tool that helps blind people and people with mobility difficulties.

This project included the mapping of some public spaces, Marina and beaches using GPS technology complemented with beatcon technology in the premises of the Marina offices, beach support, headquarters of Inframoura and the Guarda Nacional Republicana.

In the short term, it is also intended to include in the project other areas relevant to the territory, such as hotels, golf courses and restaurants, for example.

«Thus, in parallel with the requalification of public space with a humanized and inclusive vision, this pioneering project constitutes another added value initiative for the quality of experience in the experience of public space and services in Vilamoura», says Câmara de Loulé.
