Manel Cruz, vocalist of Ornatos Violeta, gives a concert this Saturday, November 9th, from 22 pm, at the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, municipality of Tavira.
This will be the start of the new programming cycle of the “Autumn evenings”.
After a seven-year hiatus, 'Vida Nova' marks the return of the singer of Ornatos Violeta, Pluto, Foge Foge Bandido and Supernada.
“Vida Nova” had as singles “Ainda Não Acabei”, “Beija-Flor”, “Cães e Ossos” and “O Navio Dela”. With lyrics, music and image by Manel Cruz, it is composed of 12 songs and accompanied by a book whose content complements the artistic work.
As a consequence of the desire to return to the studio and the stage, after a creative hiatus, “Vida Nova” was composed mostly on the ukulele. A return to the origins that pleased Manel Cruz and resulted in a handful of songs that allow him to anticipate the release of new records.
There were several stops that he was forced to make to put his feet and trample the earth. Some of them in Ornatos Violeta, others in Pluto, in the erratic place of SuperNada and, finally, in the enigmatic project that was Foge Foge Bandido, showing clippings, voices and memories of the trip – this time solo – that he had made in the last 10 years. Recharging energy was at the Service Station, which he presented in 2015, with melodies that we already knew by heart and new spiels and loose phrases that we were eager to memorize.
The remaining program will take Cordel – Edu Mundo and João Pires – and Tape Junk – Frankie Chavez and João Correia to Santo Estêvãoo.
The Autumn evenings are supported by the Municipality of Tavira and the Parish of Luz de Tavira and Santo Estevão.
