A new public tender will be launched for the redevelopment of Municipal Road 537, between Quatro Estradas and Vila da Luz, in Lagos, with a base price of 1.9 million, 400 euros more than what was included in the first.
The opening of the competition was approved this Thursday, November 14, at a Chamber meeting.
With a «completion period of 300 days, this is one of the most important interventions that the Municipality has in its portfolio, aiming, specifically, to improve the conditions of road, pedestrian and cycling mobility in Vila da Luz, an appreciated tourist center in the municipality and region”, explains the municipality.
This is the second time that the Municipality has launched a tender for the execution of this contract, since the previous procedure had to be terminated due to the absence of proposals that fulfilled the terms.
The situation has been recurrent not only in the Câmara de Lagos, but also in other municipalities and public entities in the Algarve, whose public tenders have attracted little interest from private operators.
"This situation forced the review of the project and the definition of a new base price, within the applicable technical and legal parameters, with the expectation that, this time, companies interested and available to carry out the work so desired by the population and by all those who circulate that road on a daily basis», according to the City of Lagos.
Moreover, the project provides for the requalification and creation of infrastructure, such as the complete renovation of the water main, the drainage of watersheds, the construction of water passages, the creation of a rainwater network, the remodeling of the low voltage distribution network and telecommunications network.
The creation of a continuous lighting system and the remodeling of signage are other components present.
