O Smuggling Festival re-launching a bridge between Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana between the 27th and 29th of March.

Over three days, it is once again possible to cross the Guadiana River on foot, in the company of History and the arts and culture on both sides of the border, amidst a lot of entertainment.

This will be the fourth edition of this event, which is one of the success stories of the "365Algarve", with the support of which it took its first steps and grew.

The date of the next edition of the festival was announced on Sunday, during the Feira da Perdiz, which took place in Martim Longo. On the same day, the promotional film and the new poster for the festival were presented, based on the slogan “Trafico de Artes no Guadiana”.

 

 

This is, according to the Alcoutim Chamber, «a different and singular event, with its own border identity and historical homage to its people, through a theme rooted in the local, regional, national and Iberian collective memory, as the activity used to be. smuggling”.

The festival is, in this way, a tribute to these memories, through cultural animation, with «market and street theater with period characters, musical, folkloric and ethnographic animations, theater, circus and music shows», but also on the bridge floating that allows to pass between the two sides of the border.

The Smuggling Festival is organized by the Municipality of Alcoutim and the Ayuntamiento Sanlúcar de Guadiana and has the support of the Government of Portugal, Turismo de Portugal, Algarve Tourism Region and 365 Algarve, Council of Presidency of Junta de Andalucia, Diputación de Huelva , Provincial Patronage of Tourism of Huelva, Mancomunidad de Beturia and Fundación Cajasol.
