Astrophysicists Tiago Campante and Hugo Messias give a lecture at the Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos

Activity included in the Science and Technology Week 2019

The Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos will be the stage for a conversation with astrophysicists James Campante, of the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (Porto), and Hugo messiah, at the Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics of the University of Lisbon, on Friday, the 29th, at 21 pm, with free admission.

The stars and extra-solar planets will be the starting point for an animated get-together that links astrobiology, exploration of the solar system, robotics, black holes and gravitational waves.

This activity is part of the Science and Technology Week 2019, which, throughout the country, includes guided visits to laboratories, lectures with researchers, exhibitions, science cafes and experimental activities for all ages, totaling 350 free actions.

At the CCV in Lagos, on the 26th and 28th, at 15 pm, there will be another action of the program «Science has no Age», aimed at seniors. This is a visit to the Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos, which integrates the knowledge of history and heritage and relates to new knowledge in the light of science and technology. Exploring some of the activities in the Dóing space will allow these visitors to discover the new technological and scientific cultures of our daily lives.

On the night of the 29th, from 23:00, weather permitting, there will be an astronomy session.

On the 30th, at 10:00 am (in Portuguese) and at 13:00 pm (in English), the Odisseia Genetica workshop will take place. After taking samples, the participants of this workshop come together again to discover the results of their genetic heritage written between the lines of their DNA.
