São Brás honors champion knight Manuel Alves

São Brasense knight is National Dressage Champion

Last week, the São Brás de Alportel Chamber attributed a vote of praise to the São Brasense rider Manuel da Costa Alves, for winning the title of Regional Dressage Champion – Level C.

«Reputable hairdresser, Manuel Alves has in horses the passion of a lifetime, having been a distinguished ambassador of the São Brasense municipality in the equestrian world for many years», describes the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.

In the current season, in addition to securing the first place on the podium in the Regional Championship, held in July, Manuel Alves was also the winner of the Working Equitation Test – Zona Centro, debutantes, with the horse Famoso II.

"This is an equestrian modality based on the traditional riding of each country, maintaining and conserving its different traditions, namely in the use of costume and harness, and in which the rider uses only one hand in driving his mount", described the autarchy.

The competition is divided into three specific tests, – work, maneuverability and speed -, «which allow to test the work of the trained through the skill and technical capacity of the horse».

"The municipal vote of praise now awarded recognizes the dedication, work, merit of the athlete as well as the results obtained that dignify the practice and equestrian competition and make the municipality and the São Brasense community very proud", concluded the City Council of São Paulo.
