The World Accordion Trophy, the biggest event in the world in the area of the accordion, starts next Sunday, at 17 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, with a concert that will be “memorable”, according to Câmara de Loulé.
Throughout the event, «excellent musicians and interpreters they perform on stage for the beginning of an intense week of activities, bringing together the best accordion players in the world».
The opening concert will be in charge of the Moldovan Radu Ratoi (winner of the 2018 World Trophy), the Portuguese Gonçalo Pescada, of the Orquestra de Accordeão do Algarve, among other surprises.
Founded in 1951 by the World Accordion Confederation, «the World Accordion Trophy is considered by specialized critics as the most prestigious event in the art of playing this instrument», highlights the Loulé local authority.
In addition to concerts, lectures and workshops are planned, in addition to the election of the accordionist “World Champion of 2019”.
The Algarve Accordion Association, the World Accordion Confederation and the Loulé City Council «launch an invitation to all those interested in and supporters of Music and the Accordion to join this initiative».
