World Accordion Trophy brings virtuosos from several countries to Loulé

Trophy will have a competitive aspect, but also parallel activities, such as concerts and conferences

Some of the best accordion players in the world will be in Loulé between the 3rd and 9th of November to participate in the 2019 World Accordion Trophy, considered the most prestigious competition related to this musical instrument.

In addition to choosing the world champion, the event has as attractions the many concerts and conferences/recitals that will bring renowned artists and formations to the municipality of Loulé.

The public can count on an "intense week of activities, concerts, lectures, workshops" and "high-level performances", according to the organization.

On the 3rd of November, a Sunday, the event is launched at 17:00 with a concert that will bring together at the Cine-Teatro Louletano the Orquestra de Accordeão do Algarve, of the 2018 World Champion – Radu Ratoi (Moldova), Gonçalo Pescada and Camerata de Cordas.

The following day, November 4th, at 21 pm, at the Cine-teatro Louletano, the Moldovan accordionist participates in a concert where Douglas Borsatti (Brazil), Renzo Ruggieri (Italy), Trio Charm (Russia) and Petar Maric (Serbia) will also be present. ).

Loulé's main concert hall will also host concerts by senior virtuoso (5th and 8th), junior virtuoso (7th), always at 21 pm.

The 2019 World Accordion Trophy Winners concert will take place at the Loulé Ballroom, on the 9th, at 21 pm.

Before arriving here, the different tests will take place, which always take place between 9:00 and 12:30, 14:00 and 18:00 and 21:00 and 22:30.

Another component of the event, where guest artists will also have a prominent place, are the conferences/recitals.

On November 4th, at 10:00 am, the auditorium of Solar da Música Nova will host the initiative “The accordion in classical music / light music”, with Radu Ratoi.

On the 5th, the Charm Trio will be in the multipurpose room of Palácio Gama Lobo for a conference on the theme “The accordion in chamber music”.

Over the next three days, the action moves to the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library, where Douglas Borsatti (6th, “The accordion in Brazilian music”) and Renzo Ruggieri (7th) “The accordion in Jazz music” will be shown ) and Petar Maric (8th, “The accordion in new technologies”).

Throughout the tournament, exhibitors Hohner, Bugari Evo and Cavagnolo will be present at the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

The World Accordion Trophy is jointly organized by the Algarve Accordion Association, the World Accordion Confederation and the Loulé City Council, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and Algarve Tourism Region.
