“Conversations à Quinta” take Rita Maria and Filipe Raposo to Loulé

Admission is free

Singer Rita Maria and pianist Filipe Raposo are the next guests of the “Conversas à Quinta” section, this Thursday, October 3rd, at 21 pm, in the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova, in Loulé.

Admission is free, in a concert-tertúlia format around the World Music Day celebrations.

The aspect of thinking associated with the performing arts, in a constant stimulus of critical thinking, debate and sharing of ideas and experiences, is fundamental in the programming strategy of the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

Rita Maria (vocals) and Filipe Raposo (piano) will present their paths, complicity and visions, in a get-together where conversation and live music will set the tone for a very special evening in the company of two great figures of the Portuguese musical panorama”, says the Câmara de Loulé.

In a logic of articulation between the Cine-Teatro programming and the Loulé Music Conservatory, the guest duo will also hold a performative conversation with students (from the 5th year of the articulated regime) of this educational institution during the afternoon of the 3rd, informally exploring the relationships between the Classical Music and Jazz universes.

Filipe Raposo and Rita Maria recorded an album together, released in August 2018, entitled “Live in Oslo” and already acclaimed by the public and critics.

In this album you can feel a confluence of genres ranging from Portuguese popular songbook to North American and jazz, passing through themes by José Afonso or Zeca Medeiros, to songs by Gabriel Fauré or Henry Purcell.

Distinguished with the “Artist of the Year” award for the Festival of Jazz, Rita Maria has been connected to jazz since her teens. He is part of the projects “Stockholm Lisboa Project” and “Saga Cega”, and has collaborated with artists such as Afonso Pais, Mário Laginha and Sara Serpa.

Filipe Raposo, pianist, composer and orchestrator, trained in piano and composition, composed for theater and cinema, works recurrently with names such as Sérgio Godinho, Amélia Muge and José Mário Branco, and has edited three albums under his own name.

The event is expected to last 90 minutes. Admission is free, but limited to the room capacity.
