Cyclists and hikers discover “fantastic views” of the Great Route of the Guadiana

Activity is free, but registration is mandatory

The Grande Rota do Guadiana (GR15) will host a hiking and mountain biking tour departing from Vila Real de Santo António on the morning of the 26th of October, a Saturday.

The route for mountain bikers will have 63 kilometers (VRSA-Alcoutim) and the route for hikers will have 16 kilometers (VRSA-Azinhal). Both are of medium difficulty.

Enrollment in this initiative of the Odiana association is free, but mandatory, and must be made by the 22nd, by filling out an available form. online.

With this tour, the organizer intends to promote physical activity, but also «the fantastic views of the Guadiana and the historic villages».

«The meeting point and reception of the participants is at 8:00 am at the Sports Complex in Vila Real de Santo António, where transport will be provided for the participants and collection of bicycles, with a destination to Alcoutim for the BTT and another to Azinhal, for hikers . Once at the departure point, the tour starts at 09:00 am», according to Odiana, who emphasizes that cars must be left at the arrival point, in VRSA.

During the tour support cars and supplies will be made available.

Associação Odiana organizes this tour within the scope of the PROMOTURIS project – Tourism and Cultural Promotion Plan, financed by the CRESC ALGARVE 2020 Operational Program and with the support of the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.
