Old Town Faro will have free wifi

According to the Chamber of Faro, this project is "must have"

The Chamber of Faro will install a free wi-fi network in the historic center of the Algarve capital.

The Municipality of Faro signed, on the 15th of October, a contract with Sociedade Algardata – Sistemas Informáticos, SA, in a global investment of around 113 thousand euros.

According to the Chamber of Faro, it is “essential to implement a 'Wi-Fi' network in the historic centre, an area of ​​great tourist interest, where most of the heritage elements are found”.

«This is another project to promote accessible tourism that is taking shape in the municipality and whose implementation results from the application approved by Turismo de Portugal- “Faro, an intelligent and conscious city”, under the “Valorizar” programme”.

The project foresees the provision of free Wi-Fi access in the historic area of Faro for a period of three years.
