Vila do Bispo Interpretation Center exhibits “Comenius and the Art of Teaching”

Admission is free

The exhibition “Comenius and the Art of Teaching” will be on display from this Saturday, October 5th, at the Interpretation Center of Vila do Bispo.

Organized by the Rosacruz Foundation, the exhibition highlights the personality of the pedagogue Jan Comenius (1592-1670), who also distinguished himself for his universalist thinking. Comenius defended the need to teach everything to everyone and was the author of the work “Didáctica Magna” (1657).

In this exhibition it will be possible to appreciate 13 panels that address themes such as Man as Microcosm, the concepts of Nature, the Divine, the World and the Human Being, as well as personalities such as educator Maria Montessori (1870-1952) and Algarve pedagogue João of God (1830-1876), author of the famous “Cartilha Maternal”.

The exhibition, which runs until December 13, can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 15:30 pm.

Admission is free.

On the 5th of October (Saturday), a national holiday that commemorates the establishment of the Republic in Portugal (1910) and the opening day of the exhibition, the Interpretation Center of Vila do Bispo will be open between 12:00 and 16:00.
