TIFA wants to be a reference event on a European scale

The 12 International Adapted Football Tournament (TIFA) takes place on the 27th of September, at Estádio da Nora, in Ferreiras (Albufeira).

The initiative is organized by APEXA – Association of the Algarve's Exceptional Person and aims to provide people with physical and mental disabilities the opportunity to participate in an adapted sporting activity.

The idea is also to give the possibility of socializing with participants from different parts of the country and of different nationalities. More than a hundred athletes are expected to participate, representing various national and international teams.

The presence of the Benfica team, the Vila Nova de Gaia team and the Calcutta team, in India, are already confirmed.

The start of the program is scheduled for 9:00 am, with the gathering of all the delegations at the Estádio da Nora.

At 10:00 am, the Opening Ceremony of the Tournament takes place. This will be followed, at 10 am, for the start of the Group stage Games. The Final of the Group stage is scheduled for 30:12 pm. TIFA, which wants to become a reference event on a European scale, is the result of a partnership between APEXA, the Municipality of Albufeira and some institutions in Amersfoort, in the Netherlands, which are dedicated to the promotion of sport for people with disabilities.

In addition to the Municipality, the event also has the support of the IPDJ – Portuguese Sports and Youth Institute, Algarve Football Association, Portuguese Football Federation, Fidelidade Seguros and Football Club Ferreiras.
