Portimonense drew 0-0 against Vitória de Setúbal, in a game of the 6th round of the I League of football, played this Sunday, 22 September. After three consecutive defeats, the Algarve returned to score.
After defeats against Sporting, Moreirense and FC Porto, Portimonense entered the field with the need to collect more points in the standings. The start of the game showed two teams eager to win.
The first sign of danger was for those in the house. At 3′, a ball inside the area was left for Hachadi and the Moroccan's shot forced Ricardo Ferreira to make a good save.
The Algarvians responded through Dener who, at 7′, shot with danger, but Markaridze managed to defend.
Later, at 15′, it was Jackson who received a good cross from Anzai. After playing with Aylton Boa Morte, the Colombian striker, already helpless, shot inside the area, but the ball went way over the top.
Hachadi, on 17′, again had the opportunity to score, but after receiving a cross from the left, he made a loose shot, right into Ricardo Ferreira's gloves.
Despite these chances for both sides, the truth is that, during the first half, the meeting had moments of little definition for both teams: the lost balls followed, for example.
The second half was marked…by the lack of opportunities. Portimonense appeared faster and with greater attacking momentum, but that did not materialize in goal chances.
On minute 57, Berto fell in the area and asked for a penalty for lack of Rômulo (who replaced the injured Dener). The referee, however, did not point out anything.
Now at 71′, Marlos, from Portimonense's side, dribbled some opponents, but, at the edge of the area, shot very wide.
The coaches moved in an attempt to shake the game in the last few minutes. Folha launched Tabata; Sandro bet on Zequinha. But the goals were ruined… None of the teams managed to untie the knot and the null was not changed.
Portimonense now has 5 points conquered and occupies the 13th position. In the next round, the Algarve hosts Sporting de Braga.
