The installation or assembly of so-called houses furnishings, namely 'prefabricated wooden houses, mobile home, containers and caravans' is also subject to prior municipal licensing and the submission of a project.

The warning comes from the Chambers of Olhão and Silves, which decided to clarify the public about the obligations associated with the installation of this type of housing, given its proliferation, namely in areas of the National Agricultural Reserve (RAN) and National Ecological Reserve (REN).

"At issue is, and in accordance with the Law, the observance of the principle of human use of any building, which prevails over its possible dismountable or removable character", framed the municipality of Olho.

In this way, «prefabricated buildings, wooden houses, mobile home, containers or caravans, regardless of their detachable and removable nature, provided they are intended for human use, are considered an urban planning operation subject to licensing».

If the owners of these buildings do not follow the mandatory legal procedures, they are subject to the application of fines, as well as the fulfillment of demolition and removal orders, to restore legality, inform both municipalities.

The Chambers of Olhão and Silves say that their services are “at the disposal of all citizens, in order to clarify any doubts related to this issue”.
