Mákina de Cena takes the scene “The Report of the Thing”, by Clarice Lispector

Production is financed by the Câmara de Loulé and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve

“O Report of the Thing”, by Clarice Lispector, is the new production that Mákina de Cena will take on stage from this Tuesday, September 17th, at its headquarters (Rua Gonçalves Zarco, in Loulé).

In addition to the premiere, on the 17th, this theatrical creation has screenings scheduled for this Wednesday and Thursday, (17th and 18th) and Saturday, the 21st. Always at 21 pm.

Among multiple analogies and references, “O Report of the Thing”, by Clarice Lispector (completing the hundredth anniversary of her birth in 2020), published in 1974, “takes on a new meaning in this world that, in addition to being electronic, has become addicted to the virtual and in the digital, and where “being” no longer belongs exclusively to the realm of the real and material», says Mákina de Cena.

Carolina Santos proposes to transpose “O Report of the Thing” to the scene in an intimate format, crossing the poetic of the absurd with the art of storytelling.

Then appears D. Madalena Prudência, a lonely woman with a very typical routine of someone who concentrates all doubts regarding the existence of time and things, and who proposes to talk about energetic phenomena of matter, not forgetting her future in literature.

This production is financed by the Municipality of Loulé and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

The capacity is extremely limited, and the premiere is already sold out, so advance booking is mandatory. (Approximate duration of 45 minutes for children over 12 years old.)

This theatrical creation, signed by Carolina Santos, in collaboration with Ana Karina and Marco Martins, will be the first of the official season of Casa da Mákina, a new cultural and performative space in Loulé, managed by Mákina de Cena, active since April, but which will celebrate its official opening on the 17th of September, at 21 pm, with the presence of representatives of the executive of the Chamber of Loulé.
