Crédito Agrícola promotes the 6th edition of its Wine Contest

Algarve wines have already been awarded

Enrollment is now open for the 6th Crédito Agrícola Wine Contest, aimed at Producers and Cooperatives from all wine regions in the country, in partnership with the Associação dos Escanções de Portugal.

The Contest foresees the entry of white, red and sparkling wines, produced in Portugal. For each wine-growing region and for the “White Wine”, “Red Wine” and “Sparkling Wine” categories, the Tambuladeira award from the Golden, Silver and Bronze Escanções de Portugal will be awarded.

The Jury panel will meet at AUDIR, Municipal Auditorium of Peso da Régua – City of Wine 2019 -, on 19 October, for the realization of the Blind Tasting of the wines in the competition.

In a total of the five previous editions, the Wine Contest registered the registration of more than 1.000 wines and awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze to three hundred white, red and sparkling wines from the wine regions of Vinhos Verdes, Trás-os-Montes, Douro, Beiras, Dão, Bairrada, Tagus, Lisbon, Setúbal Peninsula, Alentejo and Algarve.

This is another initiative of the Crédito Agrícola Group to support the wine sector and the development of local economies, especially Cooperatives and Producers, promoting and putting the quality of national wines to the test.

The Crédito Agrícola Wine Contest has been recognized by the Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho (IVV IP) since its first edition.
