Bibliomóvel will travel (even more) roads in the municipality of Loulé from 16th September and, in addition to good reading, it will take with it a good atmosphere, thanks to a new vehicle equipped with a photovoltaic solar system for energy production and storage.
In addition to producing clean energy to power the equipment it uses, the new vehicle is also “more functional, given its smaller size, which will allow it to reach more locations”.
«In addition to Tôr, Vales Silves, Benfarras, Alfontes, Patã, Boliqueime, Cortelha, Ameixial, Querença, Barrosas, Almancil and Benafim, where the population already had access to this vehicle, the Bibliomóvel will cover nine new points in the municipality's territory : Monte Seco, Vale Judeu, Nave do Barão, Esteval, Soalheira, White Barriers, Malhão, Azinhal and Alcaria», announced the City Council of Loulé.
The Bibliomóvel has a fund of 1500 documents, including books and audiovisuals (cds and dvds), where the population can consult the material available as well as request it.
In this “mobile library” it is also possible to read periodicals. Access to new technologies is another component of Bibliomóvel which includes two Internet stations and wireless access for users who wish to use their own laptops on site.
«This equipment is an important vehicle to promote and ensure the satisfaction of the information, education, culture and leisure needs of citizens in the most distant areas of the municipality of Loulé», concluded the City Council of Loulé.
