The 2030 Local Development Pact will be presented on the 12th of July at the Centro Cultural de Campo Maior. This will be a moment of balance, reflection, sharing and valuing the territories, which “will allow us to look at the past, analyze the present and foresee the future of the CLLD (Community-Based Local Development) instrument.
«The support for more than 30.000 projects in various sectors, the strengthening of local dynamics and the promotion of competitiveness and territorial cohesion in the territories, are the mark of 28 years of work by the Local Action Groups in the territories and with the communities, through LEADER/DLBC”, explains the Minha Terra Federation, which brings together the various Local Action groups (GAL).
According to the federation, «currently, in the period of programming of community funds 2014-2020, the implementation of Community-Based Local Development has suffered from the centralization and bureaucratization of procedures, with losses for territories and communities».
For this reason, the LAGs “started a broad discussion on the future of Community-Based Local Development (CLLD) which led to the elaboration of the 2030 Local Development Pact, which affirms the principles of LEADER/DLBC and sets the challenge to the future. programming period 2021-2027 to give voice and ears to communities, strengthening their role in the development of territories and reaffirming the added value that local development associations give to this process».
The 2030 Local Development Pact has already gathered the subscription of more than 850 organizations such as local authorities, companies, farmers, business, social, or cultural associations, which intend to demonstrate their support for local development processes and the need to mobilize adequate financing and instruments for the intervention of the Local Action Groups.
