Silves Participatory Budget enters the second phase

The 2nd phase of the Participatory Budget, promoted by the Municipality of Silves (CMS), is ongoing until the 15th of August. At this stage, citizens who did not participate in the public sessions held in May, in the various parishes, will be able to comment on the investments they consider to be a priority for the parish and/or municipality by completing an online and paper survey at the Boards or Parish Unions and City Hall assistance services.

As explained by the Municipality of Silves, "this survey will allow us to gather opinions on the area of ​​municipal intervention and on the investments that are considered to be priorities in the territory, in addition to the evaluation of the work of the Municipal Council, in the respective areas of intervention."

According to Rosa Palma, mayor of Silves, the objective of the Participatory Budget is to «strengthen the cooperation ties between citizens and local elected representatives, sharing aspirations and responsibilities, guaranteeing the deepening of democratic values, within a more efficient management framework. efficient, open and transparent'.

The mayor adds that "the entire involvement and consultation process aims to contribute to the better functioning of the municipality and the efficient use/application of resources, defining and respecting priorities, with the ultimate aim of raising the levels of well-being of the populations and the development of the territory of the municipality of Silves».

In October, a second round of Participative Assemblies will be held in the various parishes with the aim of debating the proposals received, there will also be meetings with the council's associations and collectivities and work sessions with the Parish Councils/Unions and with political parties with representation in the Municipal Assembly.
