The Public Ministry (MP) confirmed to the Sul Informação that the Chamber of Faro, as well as the municipal company AmbiFaro and also the market, are being searched.
In answering the questions of the Sul Informação, the MP revealed that, in the process, «facts are investigated that may include crimes of corruption, economic participation in business, embezzlement and malfeasance».
In addition to the Market, the Chamber and the AmbiFaro, which is led by the wife of Paulo Santos, vice president of the municipality, the searches are also being carried out in a lawyer's office in the Algarve capital.
The Public Ministry did not specify which.
