Loulé opens water and sewage networks, works and a new roundabout in Vale Judeu

Two days marked by openings

Inauguration of water and sewage networks in Santa Luzia, a new roundabout in Vale Judeu and the improvement works of Manuel Maria Campina street and Joaquim António Pires square. These are works that the Câmara de Loulé inaugurates this Thursday and Friday, 1st and 2nd of August. 

Tomorrow, the 1st, Loulé will inaugurate the water and domestic wastewater networks in Santa Luzia (18:30) and the creation of a roundabout and road arrangement in Vale Judeu (19:00).

With regard to the new basic sanitation equipment, it will now benefit the population living in an area close to the Municipal Park – 172 people (43 houses) at present, and 320 (80 houses) are expected in the future.

Being a dispersed residential area, the water network was built in an extension of 5096 meters. The domestic wastewater network has an extension of 4600 meters. The lanes were also paved. This work had a cost of around 1 million euros.

In Vale Judeu, in the parish of S. Sebastião, the intervention consisted of the implementation of a roundabout at the junction of Rua de Vale Judeu and Estrada da Cimpor.

 

 

The work also contemplated the reformulation of the intersection, as well as the implementation of pedestrian walkways throughout the intervention, reinforcement and replacement of the existing public lighting, execution of a rainwater drainage network and landscaping of the surrounding roundabout.

The venture was around 160 euros and came to correct a once-dangerous cross.

This Friday, August 2, at 18 pm, Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, will inaugurate the redevelopment work on Rua Manuel Maria Campina and Praceta Joaquim António Pires.

This work came within the scope of the intervention project for urban rehabilitation “A square in my neighborhood”, and consisted of the enhancement of the block surrounding Rua Manuel Maria Campina and Praceta Joaquim António Pires with reorganization of the existing road structure, redefinition of the parking lot , reinforcement of the public lighting network, creation of a green space with infrastructures aimed at sports and children's play.

This requalification, worth 331 thousand euros, aimed to create a public space for proximity and promotion of the values ​​of conviviality, communication between neighbors and well-being.
