Florados de Lagoa and many other sweet delicacies will be able to be tasted at the Mostra do Doce Conventual de Lagoa, which takes place from the 17th to the 21st of July in the Cloisters of the Convento de São José.
The Algarve's sweets, and beyond, made from carob, almond and fig or jams, honey, medronho brandy, as well as liqueurs, are the stars of this event which, according to Câmara de Lagoa, «is a a true paradise for foodies, lovers of Portuguese cuisine or those who want to know it».
In addition to convent sweets, visitors can count on regional products, exhibitions, music and multimedia theatre.
This last valence will be one of the novelties of the 17th edition of the fair. Every day, at 23 pm, there will be a videomapping projection entitled “Journey to the Interior of Conventual Sweets”, where the story of the flowers of Lagoa and convent sweets will be told.
«A Journey to the Interior of Conventual Sweets is an invitation to discover, in an informal way, the heritage of convent sweets in Lagoa. These will be unexpected theatrical moments, with large-format video projections and special fire pyrotechnic effects», described the local authority, which organizes the event.
Visitors can, even against the exhibition “Arte Doce”, by the cake designers Ana Remígio, who will be on show at Sala Manuel Gamboa.
