A 48-year-old man, who was driving drunk and carrying a shotgun in his car, was arrested this Monday, 15 July, in Albufeira, on one of the main streets of the city.
According to the GNR, the man was arrested "indicted for the crimes of possession of a prohibited weapon and the use and possession of a weapon under the influence of alcohol."
"After the news that an individual was seen driving apparently drunk and with a firearm in his possession, the military carried out steps to confirm the complaint, detecting the suspect vehicle immobilized in one of the main access roads in that city. », says the National Republican Guard.
After approaching the suspect, the military detected, "inside the cabin and easily accessible, a 12-gauge shotgun, together with seven cartridges, one of which was placed in the weapon's storage."
The man was inside the car, and, after being subjected to the alcohol test, he presented a rate higher than 1,2 grams per liter.
The search for the vehicle also resulted in the seizure of a golf club and a billiard cue.
The detainee was constituted an accused and the facts were referred to the Court of Albufeira.
