Several municipalities have already joined this initiative

About 300 Portuguese secondary and Brazilian secondary school students will attend the Summer Courses at the University of Algarve (UAlg), which last from the 1st to the 12th of July.

More and more international, UAlg's summer courses, in addition to receiving students from almost every district in Portugal, are once again receiving students from the main cities in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasília, Minas General or Manaus.

These courses are exclusively for candidates up to 18 years of age (inclusive), covering different areas of study: Science, Languages and Humanities, Economics, Management and Tourism, Arts and Design, Sports, Engineering and Technology, Health and Entrepreneurship.

With the main objective of promoting a taste for the various areas of teaching and research at UAlg and helping young people in their vocational choice, this initiative also makes it possible to experience the academic reality in the fields and the contact with academic students, teachers and researchers.

Teaching and experimental activities take place in the morning. The afternoon is reserved for sport and leisure, with activities such as sailing, surfing, Stand up paddle, diving baptism, bodyboard, canoeing, beach games and a boat trip to Ilha do Farol.

Several municipalities have already joined this initiative, such as Lagoa, Moura, Mértola, Alcoutim and Odemira, which established collaboration protocols with UAlg, thus encouraging the participation of primary and secondary education students in the Summer Courses.
