Man suspected of trying to kill in Lille detained at Lille Airport Faro

Over the man hung a European arrest warrant.

A man suspected of attempted murder, committed in Lille, France, was detained at the airport in Faro. The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) complied with a European arrest warrant issued by the French authorities, which hung on the 50-year-old Portuguese citizen.

According to the SEF, the man intended to travel to Cork, in the Republic of Ireland. After his arrest, he was present at the Court of Appeal in Évora and was eventually taken to the Prison, where he will await the processing of his surrender to the French state.

Also at the airport of Faro, the SEF arrested a twenty-six-year-old passenger in flagrante delicto for committing the crime of using a forged document (Passport and Identity Card of the Hellenic Republic), when he intended to travel to Shannon, in the Republic of Ireland.
