Children from Olhão had a week "of pure fun and companionship"

More than 3 children participated in the Child and Environment Week

More than 3 children from Olhão participated in the Olhão Child and Environment Week, which took place from Tuesday to Friday, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense.

Over four days “of pure fun and companionship”, pre-school and 1st cycle students in the municipality “were able to play on the inflatables, paint on a mural, walk around gymnastics circuits or do face painting”, according to the Municipality of Olhão.

“There was also no lack of a circus-theatrical show, entitled “O Pirata Mexilhão, the savior of the oceans”, jugglers and a road safety circuit,” added the local authority, which organized the initiative.

In addition to the playful part, children from Olhão also had the opportunity to learn about works of plastic expression carried out in the context of local heritage and the legends of Olhão, where the environmental aspect is also present.

The municipal company Ambiolhão was one of the entities to be present at this Environment Week, promoting various initiatives, as well as the municipal Archive, Library and Museum, in addition to the Education and Sports Division and the Municipal Fire Department of Olhão.

The Living Science Centers of Faro and Tavira, the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the Wildlife Recovery and Research Center, the UCC Olhar + of the Olhão Health Center, Zoomarine and the company Águas do Algarve were also present.

«The children of Olhon deserve this initiative from the Municipality. It's a way of celebrating childhood and offering fun and knowledge to the younger ones, who are the future of this municipality. More than 3000 children passed through Jardim Pescador Olhanense. Four days of many activities took place. The balance is extremely positive», considered António Miguel Pina, mayor of Olhão.
