CPCJ meet in Tavira to evaluate their work

Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security and Minister of Justice will be present

“CPCJ – Valuing the past, building the future” is the theme of the Annual Meeting for the Evaluation of the Activity of the CPCJ, which will be held this year in Tavira, between 22 and 24 May, at the Parque de Feiras e Exposições.

The event, which will receive more than 600 people, including members of the CPCJ, experts and guests, is organized by the National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights of Children and Youth and has the support of the Municipality of Tavira.

The opening session is scheduled for Wednesday, the 22nd, at 14:30 pm, and will be attended by Vieira da Silva, Lucília Gago, Rosário Farmhouse and Jorge Botelho, president of the Tavira Chamber.

The inaugural lecture: “Building the future with today's parents” will be given by psychiatrist and writer Daniel Sampaio. The following is the presentation of the annual report evaluating the activity of the CPCJ for 2018, a reference document on the work carried out by the 309 Protection Commissions.

On this first day, the works end with a space for debate and a cultural moment (ballet and contemporary dance) by the Academy of Music of Tavira.

The conference on the 23rd is under the responsibility of Maria João Leote and is entitled “A look at today's children and young people”. During this day, there will be several panels with testimonies of CPCJ (Commissions for the Protection of Children and Youth), from different regions of the country, which will present good practices both in the area of ​​protection and prevention.

The journey ends with a musical moment, starring Luís Conceição, Valter Estevens and Isobel Reis, from the Academy of Music of Tavira.

On the last day of the meeting, Friday, May 24, the thematic session “CPCJ – Building the future” will be held with Isabel Soares, full professor at the School of Psychology of the University of Minho, Sofia Borges Pereira (commissioner of CNPDPCJ and member of the ISS Board of Directors) and Angel Parreño, Director General of Services for Families and Children in Spain. Moderation is in charge of Paulo Guerra (judge judge and deputy director of the CEJ).

Afterwards, prizes are awarded to the winning children of the Image Contest of the Annual Meeting for the Evaluation of the Activity of the CPCJ-2018.

The closing date is scheduled for 12:00, with the presence of Francisca Van Dunem and Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities.

At the end, there will be another participation of the Academia de Música de Tavira, with the ballet and contemporary dance by Simone Marçal.
