58 bales of hash, which were on a boat, near the island of Farol, in the county of Faro, were seized this Thursday, April 30, by the Maritime Police.
"The alert was received by the picket of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Olhão, at 6:30 am, through a citizen's telephone contact, and the elements of the Maritime Police immediately moved to the location," says the National Maritime Authority.
“Arriving on the scene, these elements detected the vessel on the beach, without any crew on board and with the drug loads inside”, he adds.
Then the boat was towed, with bales of hash inside, to the commercial port of Faro, where they were downloaded.
The drug was then handed over to the Judiciary Police, who are responsible for proceeding with the investigation.
