Five athletes from Benfica, who are "young promises of national and international athletics", trained in Lagoa for a week.
Frederico Curvelo, Eberson Silva, Edgar Campré, Julio Almeida and Ricardo de Souza used the facilities at the Municipal Stadium of Bela Vista, in Lagoa, «taking advantage of the conditions of the track, lawn, gym and SPA (jacuzzi and cryotherapy)» offered by this equipment, according to the Chamber of Lagoa, which supported the internship.
The training took place from 11th to 17th of May, under the guidance of coach Ana Oliveira, also director of the Olympic Project, and technical director of Athletics at Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SLB).
The young people from Benfica interacted with the clubs in Lagoa during motivational talks and training sharing, «with the aim of encouraging young local athletes through their successful examples».
