Video on mental health made by the University and ARS shown on Alfa Pendular

Short is called "Veras"

A video on the importance of early intervention in promoting mental health, produced by students of the Communication Sciences course at the University of Algarve (UAlg) and by the Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS), will be shown, until 14 April, on the Alfa Pendular train TV channel.

#semprehaveraAjuda is the motto of the short film produced by the students in collaboration with the Care Unit in the Community of Faro and the Public Health Unit of the ARS Algarve's Central Health Centers Group.

The short film “Veras”, by students Raphael Tonelli and Günther Daou Shöler from the Communication Sciences course at UAlg, was the film chosen among a dozen suggestions presented by the 1st year students and tells the path of a woman's life, from childhood to old age, portraying the obstacles and difficulties she encounters and cannot overcome alone.

The film, which was developed in November and December 2018, under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team of health professionals from the ACeS Central of the ARS Algarve, aims to raise awareness of health problems in the area of ​​Mental Health and for importance of asking for professional help and support in a timely manner.

The message disclosed in this context by ARS Algarve underlines that “Mental Health is also promoted. Do not hesitate. Trust your healthcare team”.

“Veras” was publicly presented at the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth of Faro and, more recently, during the Quelfes Health and Sport Week. It can also be viewed at the multimedia kiosks in the waiting rooms of the Health Centers in the Algarve region, and is now part of the programming of the Alfa Pendular train television channel.

This video also had the collaboration of course colleagues Bruno Coelho and Diogo Petreques.
