two out of three men detained by the GNR for robbery of elderly people in areas of Faro and Olhão, were in preventive detention, after being presented, this Tuesday, to the first judicial interrogation.
The third defendant, the youngest, aged 21, was subject to the obligation of periodic presentation and the prohibition of contacts.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, “there are suspicions that the detainees approached several people, all over 69 years old, and that they had been forcibly taken from them several values, including gold threads. The events took place between February and April of this year, in the areas of Faro and Olhão and in some cases the suspects acted with particular violence”.
This inquiry is directed by the 2nd section of Faro of DIAP, with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Nucleus of the National Republican Guard of Faro.
